According to sources, Manchester 

United wants their next manager to 'imbue

 the club with a distinct playing identity.' 

Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui, 

and Luis Enrique have all been connected 

with the job, but Erik ten Hag has emerged 

as their top target to succeed interim manager

 Ralf Rangnick this summer. After meeting 

with the Red Devils administration recently, 

any deal for the Dutchman might happen 

before the end of the season. 


Manchester United had not expected 

to be looking for a new manager so quickly

 after extending Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 

contract in the summer. 


The Red Devils, on the other hand, are 

back to square one after a dismal campaign

 that saw them miss out on the Premier

 League, Champions League, Carabao 

Cup, and FA Cup.

With a cheekbone fracture this season,  he's had a similar situation, but his form has  been significantly better, with 15 goals  in only 25 games.  The 23-year-old has lately reached his peak  form, scoring back-to-back braces, and  he is reportedly attracting a lot of Premier  League transfer interest.  Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle  United have all been connected with the  player, but United is also keeping an eye on him.
