Breaking news: Manchester United board declares final intention on Manchester star Rashford,is he staying or not ? Here is what the club said in details .
Marcus Rashford is considering handing
in a transfer request at Manchester United
due to his lack of playing time over the
last few weeks under interim boss Ralf
Rangnick.
Rangnick has named Rashford in the
starting line-up just twice in the last 11
Premier League matches. The 24-year-old
was sidelined in the first stretch of the
season following a shoulder surgery and
gradually earned back his spot in the
starting XI after his return to action.
However, it seems as though Rangnick
favours Anthony Elanga over Rashford
for a spot in the first XI, and according to
the Guardian, the England international is
considering his future for the first time
in his career at Manchester United.
Started
on the bench against Manchester City
Despite the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and
Edinson Cavani for last Sunday's derby
against Manchester City, Rangnick decided
against starting Rashford and instead fielded
Elanga, Jadon Sancho and Bruno in
attack. The Red Devils were thrashed 4-
1 by their city rivals.
"With Ronaldo out of the team I think
they might be better off with Rashford's
pace on the counter-attack today," said
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, who
expected Rashford to start at the
Etihad Stadium.
"Rashford's got to get himself back
on track, for the last year, year and a
half, he's not been playing well.
"They shift him to the left, to the right, down
the middle, I don't think he's settled and
grabbed a position, people refer to the
off the field stuff whether it's a distraction
or not and he's had injuries as well to
be fair, his authority off the pitch doesn't
transfer onto the pitch for Manchester United.
"He's done well here in the past [playing
at the Etihad], so it's a big opportunity
for him to show his quality again today
if he plays."
Rashford has scored five goals and
produced two assists in the 24 games
he has played across all competitions for
Manchester United this season.
