 The news that Bayern Munich has opted 

not to pursue Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger 

has increased Manchester United's chances

 of signing him. 



After electing not to prolong his career 

at Stamford Bridge, Rudiger is scheduled 

to become a free agent on June 30th. 


United captain Harry Maguire's form has

 been a source of concern at Old Trafford

 this season, leading to rumours that the 

club is looking to add a world-class center

 defender this summer. 


Rudiger clearly fits the bill in that sense,

 but speculations claimed he could prefer

 a return to his homeland, with Bayern 

Munich reportedly interested. 


The Bavarians, however, have opted not

 to pursue the 29-year-old, according 

to German transfer guru Christian Falk.

With a cheekbone fracture this season,  he's had a similar situation, but his form has  been significantly better, with 15 goals  in only 25 games.  The 23-year-old has lately reached his peak  form, scoring back-to-back braces, and  he is reportedly attracting a lot of Premier  League transfer interest.  Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle  United have all been connected with the  player, but United is also keeping an eye on him.
