 Rooney has received high praise as the 

manager of Derby County this season, 

and he has been linked with the Everton 

post since Rafa Benitez was fired in January. 



The Red Devils' all-time leading scorer

 wanted to see the Derby job through, and 

he wasn't interested in the Toffees job because

 he wanted to work for Manchester United. 


"The fundamental reason in my getting 

into management is Manchester United,

" Rooney said in an interview with The Sun

. For the Everton position, I was offered

 an interview. 


"I want to be the manager of Manchester

 United." I know I'm not ready right now,

 but I have to prepare everything I do to 

ensure that it happens someday."

 According to Gazzetta dello Sport ( Monday's edition, page 19), Manchester  United are interested in signing Napoli  attacker Victor Osimhen this summer.  Last season, the Nigerian joined the Serie  A club from Lille for a club-record £58. 5 million cost, but he struggled to make  an impact, scoring just 10 goals in all  competitions.  He was limited by a shoulder ailment . With a cheekbone fracture this season,  he's had a similar situation, but his form has  been significantly better, with 15 goals  in only 25 games.  The 23-year-old has lately reached his peak  form, scoring back-to-back braces, and  he is reportedly attracting a lot of Premier  League transfer interest.  Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle  United have all been connected with the  player, but United is also keeping an eye on him.
