season to forget, with all eyes now on next

 season and a summer shake-up. 

Ralf Rangnick is expected to be replaced as 

manager, and several players' contracts at 

Old Trafford expire at the end of June. 

Although Fernandes isn't one of them, 

it appears that United executives have 

been working hard to extend his contract, 

which now runs until 2025. 

On Saturday morning, Romano issued 

an update after revealing that talks had reached

 a 'breakthrough' on Thursday. 

He tweeted that a new deal will be "valid 

for the next five years" and that Fernandes 

has "already accepted" the offer.
