This is according to Fabrizio Romano, 

who spoke about the Red Devils' search

 for a new manager on Rio Ferdinand's

 FIVE YouTube channel. 

Erik ten Hag of Ajax and Mauricio 

Pochentino  of PSG are said to be 

the frontrunners

 for the projected vacancy at the end 

of the season. 

Ten Hag, the current Ajax manager, is said

 to have held negotiations with the Premier 

League club about being the next permanent

 manager in the Old Trafford dugout. 

With Ten Hag allegedly impressing United 

representatives, Romano expressed doubts 

about United's ability to name a new manager

 by the end of the month: "Maybe it would

 be too early, I think end of March, they're

 still in the process."
