Confirmed : Man Utd ‘tie up’ deal for Maguire replacement

 Manchester United is said to have 

'locked up' a deal for Manuel Akanji 

of Borussia Dortmund. 

Since Jose Mourinho's time at the club

, the Switzerland international has been

 linked with a move to Manchester United. 

In an interview in October Akanji hinted

 at a future move to Old Trafford. 

"Manchester United has been 

my favorite club since I was a child

," he remarked. 

It would be lovely to play there, but 

that isn't a concern at the moment. 

"I'm extremely happy in Dortmund;

 I want to win championships with 

BVB and compete in many more major

 tournaments with the Swiss national teams." 

And with United rumored to be on the 

hunt for defensive reinforcements, 

especially with the increasing criticism

 around Harry Kane's performances.
