 Bruno Fernandes has tested positive 

for Covid-19 and is a doubt for Manchester

 United's Champions League return leg 

against Atletico Madrid, according 

to Ralf Rangnick. 

The Manchester Evening News claimed 

on Saturday that Fernandes was out of the

 3-2 triumph over Spurs due to illness, 

although Rangnick did not elaborate on 

whether the Portuguese had Covid with 

him during his pre-match media obligations. 

On Friday, David de Gea tested positive 

for Covid, but the test turned out to be a 

false positive, and he was cleared to play

. Rangnick corroborated the MEN's report

. De Gea was ruled out until the morning 

of the Spurs match. 

United's scheduled stay at The Lowry 

Hotel the night before the Tottenham game

 was canceled due to the Covid scare, and

 the players came for the game.
