Revealed : 'What you doing?' - Henderson was stunned by Maguire in England rondo
Jordan Henderson said, "What you
doing?" Harry Maguire after he ruined
England's rondo drill during training
at St George's Park.
In a video posted on England's official
channels, the Three Lions were taking
part in the rondo routine perfected by
the likes of Barcelona and Ajax.
Both Jack Grealish and Nick Pope
were in the middle and had to try and
nick the ball off the larger group of
players including Henderson and
Maguire as they kept possession
in the small square.
The drill is predominantly played
in tight spaces and using just a single
touch to keep the ball moving along.
Henderson was doing the counting
as the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham
, Tyrone Mings and Kyle Walker-
Peters played one-touch football
at a fast pace.
But then after the 43rd pass, Maguire
, for reasons unknown, decided to
stop the ball when Pope came over
to press him.
He took two touches and none of
them were a pass, the momentum
of the drill killed by Maguire coming to a halt.
And that left Henderson perplexed
and annoyed in equal measure. Stood
next to him, he stared at Maguire
in disbelief and also appeared to
say, "What you doing?" to his England
colleague.
The clip has gone viral on social media
and garnered reaction aplenty from
fans.
Henderson played the full 90 minutes
as England came from behind to beat
Switzerland with goals from Luke
Shaw and Harry Kane.
Maguire, meanwhile, was an unused
substitute for the game at Wembley.
England host Ivory Coast in their
second friendly of the international break
on Tuesday before club football resumes.
