Confirmed: Manchester United set to bring in legend Van persie as to play this role , club explains why he will be in Manchester managerial crew ,and why .
Erik ten Haag has earmarked fellow
Dutchman Robin van Persie about
returning to Manchester United
as part of his backroom staff.
Ten Haag, 52, is already preparing
for life at Old Trafford should United
chiefs decide to appoint him as their
new manager.
The Ajax boss is understood to
be keen on taking Van Persie with
him to Manchester, with initial talks
said to be ongoing.
During his time with the Red Devils,
Van Persie netted 26 goals at the
club and won the Golden Boot in
2013, when United last won the Premier
League under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Van Persie is currently taking his coaching
badges and working with Feyenoord's
Under-16 side, coaching his son Shaqueel.
But the ex-Manchester United striker
is keen on a return to the Premier League
should Ten Hag take the reins at Old
Trafford.
The club would have to pay in the
region of £5million as compensation for
the final 12 months of Ten Hag's contract
once they lodged an official approach.
Ten Hag, however, inserted a get-out
clause in the deal he signed a year
ago and it can be triggered for just
(€2million) £1.68million.
Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar
has offered the Ajax boss the chance
to double his current salary which would
see him earn £4million a year at the
Eredivisie side, should decide to stay put.
Ten Hag revealed to the Dutch
champions last April he would only sign
their two-year contract offer if he could
include an 'escape clause' which will
become active this summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have
also been linked with several names
should he take over at Old Trafford,
with the Dutchman expected to raid
his current employers.
Brazilian winger Anthony, 22, who
has netted 12 goals and contributed
to eight assists so far this season
is one name on the agenda.
Another is centre-back
Timber, 20, who would immediately
address United's defensive problems.
The Netherland's international and will
be part of Louis van Gaal's squad for
the Qatar World Cup in eight months time.
Moroccan full-back Noussair
Mazraoui has also be linked in recent times.
