 slump soon or he "won't be at the club." 

Throughout the season, Maguire has been

 chastised for his performances.

of committing himself too high for Atletico 

Madrid's goal. United were eliminated from 

the Champions League in the last-16 stage

 after losing 2-1 on aggregate. 


When Ralf Rangnick came in in the second

 half to replace Maguire, United fans cheered

 him off. Following his £80 million move 

from Leicester in 2019, he remains the 

most expensive defender of all time. 


Carragher can empathise with Maguire's

 troubles, having experienced them himself.
