Breaking news : Paul pogba reveals his next step amid Manchester United future to the fans .
The final nail in the coffin ending
Paul Pogba's career at Manchester
United appears to have been hammered
in this week after the Frenchman's
revealed all is not well in an all-
tell interview in France.
The 29-year-old appeared to finally
hand in his resignation at Manchester
United after labelling their season as '
dead', while adding his last five years
at Old Trafford have left him unfulfilled.
Pogba's comments have taken on greater
significance given that he is due to
become a free agent when his contract
runs out on June 30.
Sportsmail understand while it is
very unlikely Pogba and United will
agree new terms, the Frenchman is
set to wait until then before deciding
on his next move.
Unsurprisingly for a World Cup winner -
who revealed his 2018 winner's medal
was among items stolen when his
home was burgled last week -
there are no shortage of suitors.
He has been heavily linked with
Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid
and Juventus ever since doubts over
his long-term future at Old Trafford
began being called into question.
But recent reports suggest two
Premier League clubs - reportedly
Newcastle and Aston Villa - have been
in touch with his representatives
over a summer move.
So what should Pogba do next with
the current options available to him?
And where does he fit at the clubs
interested in him?
Let's start at Juventus, the club that
sold the France midfielder for £89million
back in 2016, and that even under Max
Allegri have struggled to find an effective
midfield combination.
Despite the summer arrival of Manuel
Locatelli and January addition of Denis
Zakaria, many believe the centre of the
pitch remains a problem area in need
of solutions given their profligacy
and the lack of balance they offer the side.
But in purely numerical terms, Pogba
may well fit straight back in at the
Allianz Stadium.
Arthur and Adrien Rabiot's futures
look to be away from Turin, with the former
heavily linked with a move to Arsenal
in January while the latter's contract
expires next year.
In a more advanced role, a club
chief has confirmed Paulo Dybala will
leave on a free this summer after not
being offered a new deal. There are
therefore certainly enough potential
departures for Pogba to be brought back.
And while the Frenchman's status at
Old Trafford is arguably at an all-time
nadir, his stock at Juventus remains
high, having been key in Allegri's side
who dominated Serie A and reached
the Champions League final in 2015.
Allegri would not be drawn on whether
Juventus would make a move, joking:
'It's true that I had a great relationship
with him, but he's angry with me
because I always beat him at basketball!'
The only doubt remains is how well
he would fit into a three-man midfield
Allegri tends to employ in more important
matches, and whether the Italian could
turn Pogba back into the player he
was in his first Juventus spell.
Real Madrid could also be in line for
a midfield shake-up of their own
given the nature of their ageing options
in terms of 36-year-old Luka Modric
and Toni Kroos, 32.
Casemiro also entered his thirties
last month, and while Eduardo Camavinga
and Federico Valverde provide younger
options, it is still an area which needs
rejuvenating, despite Carlo Ancelotti's
apparent reluctance to blood some
academy talent in the area.
However, it was former boss Zinedine
Zidane who was believed to be a huge
pull for Pogba and the fact the France
legend is no longer at the Santiago
Bernabeu will have lessened their
chances somewhat.
Pogba will also turn 30 next year and
given the age of midfielder they have
been looking at - such as his 22-year
-old France team-mate Aurelien
Tchouameni - his profile appears
less appealing.
Depending on the futures of their elder
midfield statesmen, Ancelotti could look
to persist with a three-man system in
the centre of the park, and Pogba's
adaptability could also been called
into question there.
